True Love – What it is, What it is Not, and 3 Key Tips to Finding it

Home / Love Insights / True Love – What it is, What it is Not, and 3 Key Tips to Finding it

When thinking of love, words like soulmates, true love, and unconditional love come to mind. To most, these terms all mean a love that you don’t give up on; perfection, passion, and ever-lasting. But to be honest, these terms don’t always mean what you think they do, and can actually mean something entirely different. Here, we will discuss what true love is, what it is not, and how to give and receive it the right way.

What is True Love?

To start, true love can be defined as a strong, passionate, and lasting connection between two individuals. This is a love that is timeless, that lasts through ups and downs and hard times. It is two people that have committed to loving each other even when things get rough and continue to fall in love more and more everyday.

What it is Not

With that said, true love is not loving someone who is bad for you. This could be someone who is abusive, neglectful, demeaning, or a cheater. It is a love that is about two people giving it their all and is never one-sided.

How to Give and Receive True Love

If you truly want to find, give, and receive true love, we have a few tips for you.

1. Be yourself

True love is about being yourself and allowing your partner to do the same. If you feel a need to change your partner or change the way you are to make your partner like you, this is not true love. This love is learning to love each other’s flaws and weaknesses alongside their perfections and strengths.

Although, this does not mean that you can not change bad habits. If your partner inspires you to change bad habits or convert bad choices into positive ones, this is a very beautiful thing. However, this should be your choice, not theirs.

2. Let it come naturally

Next, this love is not something that is ever forced. It is not something that you have to put a face on about, hide behind, or act different in order to achieve. This type of love is so unique and beautiful, and a big reason is because it comes naturally. This is a type of love you feel secure in, with no doubts or worry.

3. Love yourself first

And lastly, the most important thing about finding a lasting love such as this is learning to love yourself beforehand. Knowing who you are, what your values are, and what you truly want from a relationship is huge. This will help you to enter a relationship confident, content in who you are, and aware of your worth. Overall, this will contribute to attracting a partner with these same values, that will give you both a love you deserve.

Conclusion

In conclusion, while there are many different ways to give and receive true love, we believe these to be the most important tips of all. So, if you want to find a love that will last, it’s time to start spending time with yourself first and becoming secure in who you are. If you do this, we can promise you that you will have a much better chance in finding your soulmate.
