When you are away from your boyfriend or girlfriend, a single text can bring your sweetheart close to you in a second. You’ll feel even closer while playing fun texting games with your boyfriend or girlfriend.
Did You Know?
In 2013, over 9 trillion text messages were sent, which equates to about roughly 1,200 text messages per person globally. However, text messaging numbers have majorly declined as more people are choosing to use apps like WhatsApp, WeChat, etc.
It is funny how things change, especially how communication has changed. From letters to telephones, from e-mails to cell phone calling, and finally from text messaging to chatting apps (like WhatsApp) currently, the latter, i.e., constant text messaging has become practically free of charge.
Distance and time have nothing to do with two people wanting to connect, and texting has become an integral part of communication. Talking without a voice and yet conveying the emotions and message across … amazing, isn’t it?
Texting in not just related to conveying messages. It has evolved and replaced actual one-on-one voice conversations. The best part of texting has to be that you can talk silently without disturbing anyone, getting caught, or while doing other things, viz. eating, watching TV, walking, etc. Did you know you there are games to play over text?
Yes, this game is played exactly the way you would play if both the players were in front of each other. With the only difference being that while choosing a dare, make sure to click a picture and send it to the other person.
Don’t forget to delete the picture later!
Invent a story over texting. One will start off with a line, say, ‘once upon a time …’ and then the other one fills in the next sentence. Continue this process, while adding new funny characters, places, twists and turns, dialogs, and funny scenarios, and have a few chuckles.
The players set a number of points. The first player texts a series of underscores each representing a letter of the chosen word. The other player responds with an alphabet that might be a part of the word. If the guesses correctly, the first player replies with underscores with the correctly-guessed letters, filled in its slot. However, if the guess is wrong, the second player loses a point.
The first player texts the first few lyrics of a song. The second player texts another, beginning with the lyrics with the other player’s last word, or continues the lyrics.
This is a game of series of questions alternating between the players. Options to each question should have equal weightage to know your partner’s true intentions. The question will begin with ‘would you rather …’ and the other has to pick an answer from the two given options.
The game is very simple. One person, say the boyfriend, chooses an object or a person, while the girlfriend attempts to guess what or who it is in 20 questions or less.
She will send a series of questions via text, trying to narrow down to the subject/object, while he responds to questions with a “yes” or “no”.
Kiss, Marry, Kill
For Example
Boyfriend: ‘Brad Pitt’
Girlfriend: ‘Marry’
Girlfriend: ‘Angelina Jolie’
Boyfriend: ‘Kiss’. …
The games involves names of people, viz., celebrities or people around. One player texts a name of a celebrity or a person, while the opponent responds with an answer, whether they want to kiss, marry, or kill the person.
Never Have I
For Example
Boyfriend: Never have I cheated during an exam.
Girlfriend: Omg! I have!
This game will reveal fun facts about your girlfriend or boyfriend. The game begins with the players taking turns in making statements of things that they’ve never done before. The opposite player loses a point every time he/she agrees to having done something that the other person hasn’t.
Personal Trivia
For Example
Girlfriend: What’s your middle name?
Boyfriend: Christopher
Boyfriend: What’s the one thing you want to buy if you had a lot of money?
Girlfriend: A pony …
An excellent game to know each other better. One asks personal questions, viz., your first pet’s name, hobbies, middle name, etc., and the other answers. Alternate the questions so it feels less like an interview.
